Tridosha Based Therapeutic Yoga

Balance Your Doshas

TridoshabasedYogicpractice

It is a one-of-a-kind custom designed yoga program which is uniquely tailored to every individual’s body constitution, medical ailments and Ayurvedic dosha (Vata, Pitta, Kapha). Every customer will have a 60- or 90-minute session with an ayurveda doctor who will diagnose the customer’s problems and recommend a therapeutic yoga program with a practitioner. The time period of the program is determined by the ayurveda doctor and yoga practitioner.
Our program follows a Dosha-Based Sequencing, where yogic postures are carefully tailored to address elemental imbalances of fire, water, air, space, and earth. This personalized approach ensures that each practice aligns with the individual's unique constitution, promoting harmony within the body and mind. With Expert Guidance, our experienced Ayurveda practitioner diagnoses your doshas and collaborates with a Yoga master to design a customized program that suits your specific needs. This synergy between Ayurveda and yoga helps restore balance, enhance vitality, and support overall well-being, making your practice deeply effective and transformative.

Unique about this program

The yoga practice in this program is uniquely curated, integrating personalized asanas, pranayama, meditation, and Ayurvedic guidance based on individual consultations with an Ayurveda practitioner. Unlike a one-size-fits-all approach, this program tailors each session to the participant’s dominant dosha (Vata, Pitta, or Kapha) and specific health concerns.

For instance, a Vata-dominant individual suffering from asthma will have asanas like Plough Pose (Halasana) and Knee-to-Chest Pose (Apanasana) incorporated into their routine to enhance lung function and improve breath control. On the other hand, a Pitta-dominant individual dealing with a peptic ulcer will be guided to practice Hidden Lotus Pose and Sheetali Pranayama, both of which help cool the digestive system and balance internal heat.

Beyond asanas, each participant will receive a customized diet plan along with Ayurvedic medicines to complement their practice and address their specific health needs. Pranayama and meditation will also be integrated to enhance mental clarity, emotional stability, and overall well-being. Additionally, the Ayurveda doctor will provide dietary recommendations, advising on suitable solid and liquid edibles to neutralize elemental imbalances. This holistic approach not only restores equilibrium within the body but also promotes sustained physical vitality and mental harmony.

A Tridosha-based yoga practice aligns yogic postures and breathing techniques with an individual’s dominant dosha—Vata, Pitta, or Kapha—to restore balance and enhance well-being. Each dosha is influenced by specific elements and requires a tailored approach to movement, breathwork, and relaxation techniques.

1. Vata Dosha (Air + Ether)

which is light, dry, and erratic, grounding and stabilizing yoga practices are essential. Poses like Tadasana (Mountain Pose) and Vrikshasana (Tree Pose) help create balance and stability, while Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend) and Balasana (Child’s Pose) calm the nervous system and reduce anxiety. Slow, fluid movements like Hatha or Yin Yoga, along with deep breathing techniques such as Nadi Shodhana and Ujjayi, bring warmth and relaxation. The practice is best concluded with Yoga Nidra or meditation for deep rest.

2. Pitta Dosha (Fire + Water)

which is intense, competitive, and fiery, a cooling and calming approach is ideal. Shitali Pranayama (Cooling Breath) and Uttanasana (Standing Forward Bend) help release heat and tension, while Ardha Matsyendrasana (Seated Spinal Twist) detoxifies the liver. Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose) and Shavasana (Corpse Pose) promote relaxation and emotional balance. Pitta types benefit from Yin, Restorative, or Moon Salutations, along with cooling breathwork like Shitali and Chandra Bhedana, while avoiding excessive heat, power yoga, or intense backbends.

3. Kapha Dosha (Earth + Water)

which tends to be heavy, slow, and lethargic, an energizing and stimulating yoga practice is necessary. Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) generates heat and movement, while Virabhadrasana (Warrior Poses 1 & 2) build endurance and strength. Navasana (Boat Pose) activates digestion, and Ustrasana (Camel Pose) opens the chest, releasing stagnation. Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand) boosts metabolism and revitalizes the body. Kapha types thrive with dynamic practices like Vinyasa, Ashtanga, or Power Yoga, along with stimulating breathwork such as Kapalabhati and Bhastrika. To maintain energy, morning workouts are highly recommended, while excessive stillness should be avoided.

By following a dosha-specific yoga routine, individuals can harmonize their energies, enhance physical health, and achieve mental clarity, leading to a more balanced and vibrant life.
